Every time you pick up a dubloon (different colors have different point
values) a mine pops up in a random location. PAY ATTENTION when you pick
up a dubloon as you have no idea where a mine will pop up--they could appear
right in front of you.
If you just go around and around the board picking up every dubloon you
see as soon as possible then mines start filling the board. This only
shortens your life span, and cuts short your playing time.
When you first start the game, you have one coin and one mine on the
screen. go pick up the first coin and a second mine shows up along with
another coin. Now BEFORE you go get the next coin you must deal with the
mines first.
The mines chase you in a very set pattern, getting faster the closer they
get to you. What you must do is get them to blow THEMSELVES up before
they blow you up. You have to lure them into each other. This is the whole
"strategy" of winning this game and getting high points!
Ok, now you have two mines, and they're both converging on you. If you
sit in one place long enough, you'll notice that they can get very close
to each other as they get very close to you. This is because their paths
INTERSECT on you.You must position your boat to form an isosceles triangle
with them. (think icicle shape) If you move away from them at the last
possible minute, then their paths will intersect on each other, and they
blow up, leaving you free to get the next 2 dubloons and repeat the process.
WHIRLPOOLS can pop up occasionally instead of a mine. GET AWAY FROM IT,
it will suck you down along with all the mines on the board if you're
not careful. Don't stop moving away from it until it disappears, avoiding
the mines at the same time. These can be handy if you have a lot of mines
on the board (though you shouldn't) as they suck all of them into it.

This game is pretty easy once you get a handle on it, and although it
still takes too long often to make my 1k limit, sometimes at least you
can have that in seconds. If you're only playing for points, once you
get 200, you can stop because with 5x the game points in Neopoints, you're
done.
To play, it's really very easy. You move the rowboat, longer you hold
down the key, faster you go. Take some time to get movement down before
you really get into it. The most efficient way to play is to get two coins
and then take out the mines. Get between them if they're far apart and
let them drift toward you. Remember, the closer they get, the faster they
move. Once they get close enough that you don't want to be between them
anymore, move forward, as fast as you feel will keep you safe, but not
so fast you ditch them. They will continue to drift toward each other
while they chase you down if you don't get too far away. Also make sure
you keep room between freedom and the wall. DON'T get yourself caught
with nowhere to run.
What will happen if all is well, is the two mines will blow each other
up after they touch. Once they blow, get two more coins and repeat. If
one shows up on a coin, lure it away and continue. If one shows up right
in front of you so you can't dodge, start over. DO NOT punch the monitor,
as that doesn't help. Finally, if the whirlpool shows, simply row away
in the opposite direction. You can be just shy of touching it and if you
row away, will be fine. And the nice part about it is it kills the mines
for you.
Remember, you only need 200 to reach the game's limit. That MAY mean 100
2 dubloon coins, but not likely.
